Saying Goodbye to Jinyeong!

So this Tuesday we said a teary goodbye to You & I School! It was very sad to say our farewells as some of the students we've taught every day for an entire year. We had a lovely last day though as we played lots of games with all our classes and they gave us little letters and gifts. It was also hard to say goodbye to our boss Glen who has been very kind to us and we've become good friends with her. Our old co-worker Iris popped in to see us, it was lovely to see her. She is getting married in December so she showed us lots of pictures of the venue and her dress. In the evening we went for some drinks with the other Jinyeong foreigners whom we have got to know well. We will miss Jinyeong and the school very much and it will always be a very special place for us.
Now we're in Seoul and Ed's Dad Nick has joined us for a little tour of Seoul, Jeju and then Kyoto! So onwards we go! Here are some pictures of our favourite places and things in Jinyeong that we will miss and also a few of our students!

First we'll start with our favourite restaurants and other locations....

One of our favourite bars, you could sit on the veranda in summer :)

The 'Beverly Hills Polo Club Hair Salon' was a personal fave to get a new hair style!

Our Street :)

A local restaurant where at any one time there was at least one member of staff on a cigarette break.

Delicious Korean/Chinese fusion restaurant

Our school on the 4th Floor :)

To get our pizza fix

Another favourite restaurant serving fried rice.

Haeinsa Temple

We've been quite busy these past few weeks so we didn't have the opportunity to write about our trip to Haeinsa Temple. About three weeks ago we went with our friend Luis to Haeinsa which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We got the bus to Daegu and then another bus direct to Haeinsa. It's a beautiful place set within Gayasan National Park. The Temple is to original Buddhist Scriptures which are hand carved onto over 81,000 wooden printing blocks. They are hundreds of years old but have been magnificently preserved due to their location which was selected in accordance with the correct humidity, rainfall, sunlight etc to keep these blocks in the best condition possible. Autumn has now arrived so all the colours of the trees gave us some great photos! Here are a few pictures from our trip to Haeinsa.
